Our desert tour also includes a stop in the cinematic city of Ouarzazate and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. Then, we’ll navigate the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass before arriving in the lively city of Marrakech.
Our 4-day desert tour begins with a pick-up from Errachidia Airport, heading south toward the Merzouga Desert. As we drive, we’ll observe wide open spaces covered with small rocks and pebbles stretching endlessly under a bright blue sky. Soon after, we’ll reach the beautiful Ziz Valley, the second-longest valley in Morocco.
The view of its winding road passing through thousands of green palm trees, red cliffs, and traditional Berber villages invites us to stop and enjoy the beauty of the area. Afterward, Our journey continues to Erfoud. This is a town famous for its fossils and minerals and the famous Date Festival, which attracts visitors from across Morocco.
From there, we’ll continue toward Merzouga. Upon arrival, we’ll shift the car by a camel caravan and begin crossing the golden dunes. We’ll pause to witness the beauty of the sunset, then continue to our desert camp. Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional mint tea, followed by a delicious Moroccan meal, then relax by the campfire and enjoy stories or Berber music under the stars.
The second day of our Morocco desert tour will be about exploring the Sahara desert. First, we’ll wake up early to enjoy the magic of the sunrise. After that, we’ll drive directly towards The village of Khamlia, where we’ll discover the rich sub-Saharan heritage and soulful rhythms of Gnawa music and a mesmerizing live performance filled with drums, chants, and dancing.
Afterward, our guide will take us to visit a nomadic family living in the heart of the desert. We’ll learn about their rich way of life, customs, and the daily challenges of desert living. Then, we’ll continue to the seasonal Srij lake. Here, we will stop to admire a peaceful oasis that becomes a haven for migratory birds, especially flamingos.

Then, we’ll traverse the Roses Valley and navigate the lush green Oasis of Skoura. Soon after, we’ll reach Ouarzazate, a fascinating city that is home to one of the largest film studios in the world. It is the Atlas Film Studios, where many famous movies and TV shows were filmed.
