Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Our 10-day Morocco itinerary starts at the Marrakech airport. Your driver will be there to warmly welcome you and take you to your hotel or riad. After you’ve had a chance to settle in and catch your breath, we’ll dive into exploring the vibrant streets of Marrakech. we’ll have plenty of time to soak up the magical atmosphere of the red city.

Marrakech is full of fascinating sights, sounds, and smells, making it the most popular tourist destination in Morocco. It is renowned for its lively markets and breathtaking architecture and is home to numerous landmarks and historical sites. There is the Al-Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tomb, Bahia Palace, Jarden Mahorelle, and so much more.

Marrakech sparkles with lights, and the atmosphere buzzes with energy. The air is rich with the mouthwatering scents of spices and traditional Berber dishes, while the calls to prayer from the muezzin resonate throughout the streets. It’s a city that needs more than one day to uncover all of its beauty.

Day 2: Explore Marrakech with local Guide

The second day of our Morocco tour shall be spent on a guided tour in Marrakech, walking through history. We start at the Al-Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech. Its minaret rises high above Marrakech and is visible from almost anywhere in the city. Just a short walk away, the Saadian Tombs lie in wait like a hidden and peaceful 16th-century jewel. 

From there, we walk on into the Old Medina. This is a bustling area with small streets lined with stores selling spices, traditional attire, lanterns, leather items, and carpets. After the Medina, a tranquil stop at the Jardin Majorelle will be suitable for the afternoon. The blue buildings, tropical plants, and soft fountains create an ideal place to linger and take photographs.

Also nearby, the Bahia Palace was constructed during the 19th century. The palace has the artful beauty of Moroccan design with its large courtyards, marble floors, and colorful mosaics. Then, we head to Jemaa El-Fna square. At night it turns into a huge outdoor restaurant, with the scent of tagine, couscous, and harira soup filling the air.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Our 10-day Morocco itinerary extends along the High Atlas Mountains and its famous Tizi n’Tichka, which boasts great vistas of rocky peaks and green valleys below. soon after, we will arrive at the iconic Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Treading through its streets and to the top, you are rewarded with wonderful vistas of the desert and surrounding mountains.

Just a short drive from Ait Benhaddou, we arrive in Ouarzazate. There, we will visit the Atlas Film Studio, where many international movies, such as Gladiator and The Mummy, were produced. Then, we will stop at the Tourirt Kasbah, a charming example of ancient Moroccan architecture.

Proceeding on, we come to the Skoura Oasis, a peaceful area filled with palm trees and traditional mud-brick houses. En route to Dades Valley, we traverse the Roses Valley, beautiful in spring when the roses bloom. The valley is known for rose products like oils, perfumes, and creams. In Dades Valley, we’ll spend the night awaiting the adventure ahead.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

on the fourth day of our Morocco 10 day itinerary, we’ll be making our way toward the Sahara Desert. But first, we’ll take some time to soak in the beauty of Dades Valley. This stunning valley, with its striking red cliffs, winding roads, and lush green oases, looks like a masterpiece painted by hand. 

As we continue, we arrive at the dramatic Todra Gorges, renowned as Morocco’s greatest canyons. while strolling between the towering cliffs, we’ll hear the gentle sound of water and spot local families tending to their gardens nearby. Next, we’ll head to Erfoud, where we’ll visit a fossil workshop and see how these ancient relics are transformed into beautiful marble tables, jewelry, and art pieces.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, picture yourself riding camels through the dunes at sunset. This is pure magic; the sky turns orange and pink, the sand glows, and the silence is unforgettable. At the camp, enjoy a traditional dinner and Berber music under a star-studded sky. The air is calm, the food is hearty, and the feeling of being enveloped in the magic of the desert.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Azrou Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

The best way to start this day is with an early wake-up to catch the stunning sunrise, a magical moment you definitely don’t want to miss. After that, we’ll set off toward Fes with a first stop in Rissani, a small town with deep roots in Moroccan history. The town is famous for its traditional souk, where locals trade and barter everything from spices and dates to donkeys and handmade crafts. 

As we continue north, the dry desert transforms into the lush beauty of the Ziz Valley. it’s an ideal place to take a deep breath of fresh air and snap some photos of the breathtaking oasis below.  from there, we head to the Azrou Cedar Forest, one of the most tranquil natural spots in Morocco and home to ancient cedar trees and playful Barbary macaques.

A short stroll among the towering cedars is a great way to stretch your legs and maybe share a snack with the curious monkeys that live there.  Before reaching Fes, we pass through Ifrane. With its pristine streets, alpine-style houses, and cool climate, Ifrane feels completely different from the rest of the country. As the sun begins to set, we will arrive in Fes.

Day 6: Fes Walking Tour

Day 6—day of our Morocco 10 day itinerary continues with a guided tour in Fes, Morocco’s oldest city. We will start at the Royal Palace, a breathtaking complex adorned with golden doors and intricate tilework. The grand gates and the surrounding architecture are truly a sight to behold. Right next is the Jewish Quarter, a fascinating quarter that reveals Fes’s extremely diverse heritage.

Next, we’ll immerse ourselves in the UNESCO’s site of the old medina. filled with artisan workshops, spice stalls, and the sounds of craftsmen working with leather, metal, and wood. Nestled within the medina is the historic Al-Karawiyyine University. Not too far away, the Chouara Tannery is where leather is still tanned by hand.

Then, we’ll head to the Najjarine Foundation, displaying doors, tools, and furniture that highlight Morocco’s deep artistic soul. We’ll also observe locals producing pottery, metalwork, textiles, and so on. Our journey then will lead us to the Bouanania Madrasa, one of Fes’s most elegant monuments. Our day ends at a terrace where we can soak in the stunning views of the medina.

Day 7: Fes – Meknes – Volublis – Chafchaouen

On the 7th day of our Morocco 10 day itinerary, we’ll journey from the historic city of Fes to the enchanting city of Chefchaouen. Our first stop will be Meknes, where we’ll explore Bab Mansour gate and take a moment to appreciate its grand size, intricate zellij (mosaic) tilework, and impressive Corinthian columns. 

Next is the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a site featuring lovely courtyards, detailed stucco work, colorful zellij, and intricately carved cedar wood. Then, we’ll discover the Royal Stables (Heri es-Souani). The sheer scale of this engineering marvel is truly breathtaking and gives us a glimpse into the logistics behind managing a vast empire.

Just a short drive from Meknes, we’ll arrive at Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco. As we stroll through the ancient ruins, we’ll encounter stunning mosaics, towering columns, and majestic arches that have stood for over 2,000 years. From there, we’ll continue to Chefchaouen, where we will spend the night. 

Day 8: Chafchaouen – Rabat – Casablanca

Our Morocco 10 trip continues in Chefchaouen. First, we’ll hike up to the Spanish Mosque to enjoy a stunning sunrise view over the blue-washed hills. After that, we’ll meander through the old medina, and stumble upon quaint shops, meet friendly locals, and find countless photo ops. Then, we’ll continue to Outa el Hammam, a lively hub perfect for sipping mint tea and absorbing the relaxed atmosphere.
