Start on an unforgettable 3-day desert tour from Errachidia to Marrakech, an incredible journey that takes you through Morocco’s most stunning and varied landscapes. This itinerary is perfectly designed to lead you from the gateway of the Sahara, through magnificent canyons and ancient Kasbahs, to the vibrant imperial city of Marrakech.
Your desert adventure begins with a morning pick-up in Errachidia. We’ll head south, traveling through the magnificent Ziz Valley, where you’ll be greeted by an impressive sight of a vast oasis of palm trees, offering fantastic photo opportunities. We will pass through traditional Berber villages and eventually reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. From here, you will meet your camel caravan and embark on an unforgettable camel trek into the golden sands. The trek will take you to your traditional Berber desert camp, where you’ll witness a spectacular Sahara sunset over the dunes. After a delicious traditional dinner, you will gather around a campfire to enjoy Berber music and storytelling before spending the night in your comfortable desert tent, sleeping under a blanket of a million stars.
After an early rise to witness the breathtaking Sahara sunrise over the dunes, you’ll enjoy breakfast at the camp. We will then ride the camels back to Merzouga to meet your driver. We will begin our journey west, stopping in the traditional market town of Rissani before continuing to the magnificent Todra Gorges. Here, you can take a walk along the riverbed between towering canyon walls that reach up to 300 meters high. The journey continues to the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and traditional Kasbahs. We will spend the night here in a local guesthouse or hotel, enjoying dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Today is the final leg of your tour, filled with incredible scenery. We will continue our drive through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the city of Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa.” We will then visit the most iconic of all Kasbahs, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a magnificent fortified village that has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films. After exploring this historic site, we will begin our ascent into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters (7,415 ft). The pass offers stunning panoramic views of the mountains and the Berber villages nestled on the hillsides. Your journey concludes upon arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

The best times to visit the Sahara Desert are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. Temperatures are milder and more comfortable for desert activities. Summer can be very hot, and winter nights can be quite cold, though daytime is often pleasant.
We recommend packing light, breathable clothing for the daytime, and warmer layers for the evenings, especially in winter. A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, a small backpack, and a camera are essential. Don’t forget a headlamp or flashlight for the desert camp.
Yes, our traditional Berber desert camps are designed for comfort. They typically include private tents with beds, blankets, and shared or private bathroom facilities (depending on the camp type). Dinner and breakfast are provided, and there’s usually a campfire for evening entertainment.
