Our 7-day Morocco itinerary to Fes begins with a warm welcome at Menara Airport (RAK). Our driver will meet you there and take you straight to your comfortable riad or hotel. After checking in and settling down, we’ll have the rest of the day to explore this lively “Red City” at our own pace.
Today’s plan depends on your flight time. If you arrive early, you will have more time to discover Marrakech and visit its top sights. You can wander through the bustling Djemaa el-Fna square, visit the peaceful Jardin Majorelle, or see the Al-Koutoubia Mosque. You can also explore Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs, stroll through the old Medina, or simply relax at one of the cafes and enjoy the city’s vibe.
The second day of our Morocco tour will be about exploring the magic of Marrakech, the top touristic destination that many visitors even think is Morocco’s capital. Our journey here begins at the Jardin Majorelle, a hidden spot filled with bright blue buildings, quiet paths, and rare plants like cacti, bamboo, and palm trees.
After that, we’ll head to Al-Koutoubia Mosque. This 12th-century masterpiece is renowned for its tall minaret, elegant arches, detailed tile work, and spacious garden. From there, we will head towards the 19th-century Bahia Palace. Here, we will see colorful tiles, carved wood, painted ceilings, and peaceful courtyards with fountains that reflect classic Moroccan style.
Next, we’ll explore the medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we’ll find spices, leather bags, handmade clothes, and traditional crafts. In the afternoon, we conclude the day by visiting Djemaa el-Fna square, a lively place with music, stories, snake charmers, and street performers. Our Morocco 1-week itinerary for today continues. We will traverse the High Atlas Mountains, making our way through the iconic Tizi n’Tichka pass. Soon after, we’ll arrive at the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. Today’s adventure kicks off with a visit to the stunning Dades Valley. We’ll marvel at the impressive rock formations and steep canyon walls. As we continue, we’ll pass by ancient castles and stop at breathtaking viewpoints. Soon after, we arrive at one of Morocco’s awe-inspiring natural wonders.
In Todra Gorges, we’ll be greeted by towering cliffs that soar up to 1,000 feet, creating a truly dramatic backdrop. While we explore, we’ll wander through lush palm groves, fragrant wild herbs, and quaint Berber villages. From Khamlia, we will drive into the heart of the desert, where we will visit a nomadic family still living as their ancestors did. The day wraps up with a traditional dinner and stories shared around a cozy campfire before you settle into your tent beneath a stunning blanket of stars.
On the 6th day of this Morocco 7-day itinerary, we’ll wake up early to enjoy one last desert sunrise before returning to camp for breakfast. After that, we’ll leave Merzouga and begin our journey toward Fes, making the first stop at Rissani. Inside its tradional Market, we’ll explore stalls filled with spices, herbs, dates, Berber rugs, woven baskets, leather goods, and more.
From there, the road takes us to Ziz Valley, where thousands of palm trees line the Ziz River. The valley offers stunning views and great spots for photography. After a break for lunch in Ifran, we continue to reach the Azrou cedar forest. This is home to some of Morocco’s oldest and tallest cedar trees, as well as wild Barbary macaques that often roam freely.
After Azrou, we’ll visit Ifrane, one of Morocco’s cleanest cities. It’s known for its cool climate, fresh mountain air, and alpine-style buildings. Just a few miles and we will arrive in the imperial city of Fes. Here, we’ll spend the night and prepare to explore its rich history and vibrant culture the next morning.
On the last day of our Morocco itinerary 7 day, we’ll begin with a delightful breakfast before heading out to explore the vibrant streets of Fes. Today’s journey will depend on your flight schedule. This could be the perfect chance to wander through the charming old medina or grab some last-minute souvenirs.
