Day 1Arrival in Marrakech

Day 2Explore Marrakech with local Guide

Today, you’ll start exploring Marrakech. Visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa Islamic School, admire its intricate details, and see the Koutoubia Mosque and Gardens, taking pictures of the distinctive minaret. Enjoy the beautiful Majorelle and Menara Gardens.

Have lunch at a local restaurant, then explore the Dar Si Said Museum to see jewelry, clothing, and carved furnishings. Visit Jemaa el-Fnaa Square to experience musicians, dancers, snake charmers, and local cuisine.

Wander through the maze of souks, shopping for handicrafts, spices, and jewelry. Day 3Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley

The driver will pick you up from your Riad in Marrakech to take you to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains. You’ll pass Tizi Ntichka port, the highest point at 2,260 meters, stopping along the way for photos of the scenic landscapes and Berber villages.

Next, you’ll visit Telouat Kasbah and have some free time to enjoy local cuisine. After lunch, you’ll travel through the Ounila valley to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the famous Kasbah, a setting for movies like Gladiator and The Mummy.

You’ll then head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” Continuing through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, you’ll see traditional farming practices in small villages. Passing through the fragrant “Valley of the Roses” in Kelâat M’Gouna, you might spot nomads with their livestock.

Day 4Dades - Rissani - Merzouga

Next, you’ll reach the captivating Merzouga Desert after a long drive in your 4WD vehicle. Here, you’ll switch to a camel for a leisurely journey through the ever-changing Erg Chebbi Saharan dunes. Before reaching the town known for its fossil-rich rocks and artisans, you might encounter a nomadic Berber family and enjoy tea with them.

Continue through a 14-square-mile stretch of undulating sand dunes, with peaks over 650 feet tall that change color and shape with the wind and sun. As twilight falls, you’ll arrive at your luxurious campsite, ready for a feast of Moroccan cuisine. You’ll sit by a cozy bonfire and be amazed by the surrounding sand dunes.

Day 5Merzouga - Ifrane - Fes

Today, you’ll get up early today to witness the sunrise, a truly magnificent sight as the light gently spreads across the sand. The vastness of the terrain and the beauty of the dawn will rejuvenate you. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll return to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting to take you to Fes via the Ziz Valley.

First, you’ll stop for a panoramic view of the Aoufous oasis in the Tafilalte region. Then, you’ll travel through Errachidia, Erfoud, and the Ziz Valley, crossing the Tizi N’talghamt pass to reach Midelt, where you’ll stop for lunch.

The journey continues alongside the Cedar Forest to Azrou, a high hill of cedar forests home to endangered Barbary Apes. Azrou means “rock” in the local Berber language.

Next, you’ll visit Ifrane, a clean, well-kept city that resembles Switzerland and is located in the Middle Atlas. The city boasts lovely parks, gardens, museums, and cultural attractions. A stone statue of the Atlas Lion, a symbol of the city, stands in the center.
