Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech, Driving through the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, you will pass through small Berber villages, where you can see traditional mud-brick houses and the amazing daily life of local people.
Our first big stop will be the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in worldwide movies. with a local guide, you will have the chance to explore its narrow alleys, old towers, and historic walls.
Afterwards, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Africa, to visit the well-known Atlas Film Studios, famous for many international films.
From there, you will continue your journey through the lush Skoura Oasis that stands as an isolated vegetation haven in an arid environment and the colorful Valley of the Roses, famous for rose products and its annual festival. Few miles later and we will reach the dades Valley and let you have dinner and spend the night in a place surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes.
Today’s first destination will be the Oasis of Tinghir, a green paradise filled with tall Palm groves and traditional Berber villages. After exploring the impressive Todra Gorges, which are famous for their dramatic red cliffs that rise high above a clear river, making it the favorite place for hikers, photographers, and rock climbers, our journey will continue to Rissani, another historic town and the birthplace of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty. This town is known for its Date Products and the traditional lifestyle of its people.
By evening, you will arrive in Merzouga, a small desert village surrounded by the dunes. After a warm welcome, your Camel caravan will be ready to take you across the sands to your desert camp, where you will spend an unforgettable night that begins with a delicious Moroccan dinner, continues with traditional Berber music around the campfire, and ends with a peaceful sleep in your private tent.
For the best experience, you should wake up early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise over the golden dunes. After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your camp, your adventure in the fascinating Merzouga region will begin by crossing the desert to visit a nomadic Berber family and get to know about their unique culture and traditional way of life, and why not share a cup of refreshing mint tea—you will be amazed by their simple yet authentic lifestyle.
After that, we will drive to the village of Khamlia, known for its soulful Gnawa music, to enjoy a live performance of this spiritual African rhythm. We may also visit the beautiful Merzouga Lake (Dayet Srij), a peaceful oasis that attracts many bird species, before heading to the old village of Mefis.
In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to relax, explore the desert around your camp, take a short camel ride, or even experience riding a quad bike over the dunes. As night falls, you will enjoy a delicious dinner while listening to traditional music before concluding this busy day with a quiet sleep in your private tent under the starry sky, adding new memories to your desert tour.
On the final day, you should wake up early for one last magical sunrise over the dunes. After a delicious breakfast at the desert camp, enjoy a final camel trek back to Merzouga, or, if you prefer, take a 4×4 transfer. From here, the road leads north towards Fez, passing through some of Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes, such as the Ziz Valley, a oasis famous for its endless palm groves, old Kasbahs, and winding river, offering the perfect views for photos. After that we will pass the city of Errachidia, an important gateway between the desert and the mountains, before heading into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll stop in the Azrou cedar forest to meet the playful Barbary apes and take some memorable photos, then a short drive brings you to Ifrane, which is one of the most beautiful Moroccan cities because of its clean streets, alpine-style houses, and cool climate.
