Our tour prices vary depending on the travel season and accommodation availability. April, October and December are particularly busy months in Morocco, with strong demand for hotels, traditional riads and Sahara Desert camps.
During these peak periods, accommodation providers may raise their rates, which can affect the overall tour price. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred accommodation and the best available rates.
Your final tour price is confirmed based on your exact travel dates, number of travellers and accommodation category.
Your 3-day desert tour includes two nights of accommodation: one night in the Dades Valley and one night in the Merzouga Sahara Desert.
Spend your first night in a comfortable hotel or traditional riad surrounded by the landscapes of the Dades Valley. Rooms have private facilities, and dinner and breakfast are included.
Spend your second night in a private tent at a desert camp near the Erg Chebbi dunes. Your desert experience includes the camel ride, dinner, breakfast and an evening of traditional music.
Different accommodation categories can be arranged depending on your budget and preferred level of comfort. If one of our regular accommodations is unavailable for your travel dates, we will arrange a similar property in the same category.
This is a private Morocco desert tour, not a shared group excursion. You travel in your own vehicle with a professional driver, allowing greater flexibility for stops, photographs and rest breaks.
The tour travels all the way from Marrakech to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi, where some of Morocco's most impressive Sahara dunes are located. You'll experience the dunes by camel, watch the sunset and spend a night in the desert.
The journey is an important part of the experience. You'll cross the High Atlas Mountains and visit Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Valley and Todra Gorge before reaching Merzouga.
The return journey travels through Rissani, Alnif and the Draa Valley, allowing you to see more of southern Morocco instead of simply repeating every part of the outward route.
Camel riding is included but optional. If you don't want to ride a camel, you can reach the desert camp by 4×4 at the same price.
Merzouga is far from Marrakech, so this 3-day itinerary includes significant driving. It is a good choice for travelers with limited time who want to reach the Sahara. If you prefer a slower pace, consider a 4-day or 5-day desert tour.
We recommend leaving Marrakech early on the first morning. This gives you enough time for scenic stops in the High Atlas Mountains and your visit to Aït Ben Haddou before continuing to the Dades Valley.
Temperatures in the Sahara can change considerably between daytime and nighttime. During winter, desert evenings and early mornings can be cold, so bringing a warm layer is recommended. During warmer months, light clothing, sunglasses and sun protection are useful.
Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking around Aït Ben Haddou, Todra Gorge and the dunes.
If you don't feel comfortable riding a camel, you can travel to the desert camp by 4×4. You can still enjoy the dunes, sunset, camp and other Sahara activities.
Quad biking and buggy excursions can be arranged in Merzouga at an additional cost. They are not included in the standard tour price.
Lunches are not included, allowing you to choose what you would like to eat during the journey. Your driver can recommend suitable restaurants along the route.
Because this is a private tour, we can adapt certain details according to your group size, accommodation preferences and travel plans.
